Performer sends one program image to one destination at a time. Choose
Display for a fullscreen monitor or projector, Syphon for a macOS
receiving app, or Spout for a Windows receiving app.
Program output requires Baryon Pro and Performer Mode. It is available on
macOS and Windows.
Output destinations
Display, Syphon, and Spout are alternatives. Selecting one stops the previous
destination; Baryon does not send the same frame to several destinations at
once.
Send the program to a display
- Connect the monitor or projector you want to use for program output.
- Open Baryon Desktop and enter Performer Mode.
- In the output controls, choose the monitor under Target.
- Select Display.
Baryon covers the selected display while the operator window stays on its own
screen. A display occupied by the operator window is not available as a target.
On a single-display system, connect another display before selecting Display.
With several displays connected, keep the operator window off the target.
If the active display disconnects, Baryon turns program output off. Reconnecting
the display does not restart output; select Display again when the target is
ready.
Publish to a receiving app
Select Syphon on macOS or Spout on Windows, then choose Baryon as the
source in the receiving app. The program surface supports these resolution
presets:
- 720p
- 1080p (default)
- 1440p
- UHD 4K
- DCI 4K
The resolution preset applies to Syphon and Spout. Direct Display uses the
selected monitor’s pixel dimensions.
Appearance and compositing
Every Performer destination receives the same opaque image composited over
black. Performer does not expose Output Color, and its program output does
not carry a transparent background.
When you want the cymatic field over another layer, set the receiving layer to
Add or Screen. Black contributes nothing under those blend modes, while the
rendered field remains intact.
The web app and Listener Mode expose Output Color, but their rendered output
is also opaque.
OSC Data Out is independent of the selected pixel destination. You can send
modal structure data while Display, Syphon, or Spout is active; see OSC
Structure Export.
